Sleep 04:27
Sometimes I stutter, and these eyes, yeah they do wander. Haven't had a good night's rest, been sleepless since the summer. And I get so lost in my head, I can never speak clear and loud. But when you're around, I don't have to buckle down; I can sleep. We met at the boardwalk, you said "it was nice." I took off my jacket, the air was so cold. Sand in our hair, we didn't ever care. And I asked you a question, "If you had a boyfriend?" And yeah you did. Well shit. I guess I'm just the type, second to your boyfriend. But now, I'm finding it harder. I'm finding it hard. I'm finding it harder, to deal. Cause now I can't sleep. I'm just shy, I still try. I'm just shy, I still try.

A New Day 04:36
A new day, won't ever come. But we do it anyway, and we don't have fun. And you say, I'm not the one for you. But we try it anyway, and we found love. And I know why, oh I know why. Cause everything turned around, and everything turned around. We get high because we tried every other way not knowing why, we won't drink your cups of turpentine. And when we try another way, we don't get too far before we sway, back and forth to a new day. And when we try some other way, we had to pay, left alone saying up for a new day. We would swim and swim and swim and swim away, searching for a breath in a new day.

Too Close 04:27
Your ashtray spilled onto your bed. Burning holes in your sheets like the ones in your head. Your needle weaves through your sweater, patching up the holes in your arms getting redder. Well I don't know, a hold too close. I don't know, you've always loved the coast. Growing up, way too fast. In retrospect, I've always loved the past. You model your actions by your friends. Even though, they lead to your end. Together, we would waste the days. Because of you, I'm glad I choose to stay. Well I don't know, a hold too close. Still don't know, we loved the coast. You're growing old, way too fast. In retrospect, I've always loved the past. I don't know, a hold too close. Still don't know, I've always loved the coast. Growing old, way too fast. In retrospect, I've always loved the past.

Nocturnal 03:35
Can't fight the fire when the spark ignited. Shortcuts and cigarettes define our homes. Six hours is a long drive for weekends. Our nocturnal thoughts, turning darkly. If I took you home, do you think you'd like it? The air's not as fresh but it'd be way brighter. What you don't know, I've been dreaming about you. Your heart is so close, I can swear I hear it. Too soon to tell, but I swear you got me. The vinyl's trashed, but we're getting closer. Don't laugh if you don't mean it. If I gave you my heart do you think you'd keep it? Your heart is so close.

Shadows 02:15
You can't let them walk all over you. So you stand, but you don't know what to do. In your head, you let it get, underneath your skin, before you stand alone. You can't die with all your sin, or your shadows will win. Don't let it under you skin. Could you die with all your sin? So we tried so fucking hard, but we lost it all. The leaves were all gone. Such a cold, cold, cold fall. Yet we'll all stand so tall.

Babe, it's been awhile since you've come back, and you don't know where your shoes are at. Aw do you babe? Have you looked in the living room? Does it remind you of what we'd do, on the weekend? All you do is follow me, into the bedroom across the street. On your night off I talk too much, I'm saying things that you already know. Babe, aw babe, aw babe, it's been awhile since you've come back. And you don't know where your shoes are at, aw do you babe? You're all alone and you don't know why, you and I babe we've seen the sky, fade to grey. And all the time I've spent with you, you don't remember and you don't know who gave it all, to the ones you love. All you do is follow me, you speak the truth but you don't believe, anything I say.
